Microphone Not Working in Fedora 14

If your microphone is not working on your new installation, just try this. It worked for me:
  1. Go to System --> Preferences --> Sound
  2. Select the input tab
  3. Switch from the existing configured microphone (probably microphone 1) to another one (microphone 2)
  4. Close the application and everything should work ;-)
It looks like this issue has been going on and off since Fedora 10...

    Hello, i tried your suggestion, but it doesn't work for me. I have a dell inspiron 6400 with F14, i have been using fedora since FC8, and all microphones works well in past versions. Any idea about F14?, thanks for your web-space, is very useful. (i'm form México, sorry for my english)

    I guess you already updated to Fedora 15. I found out some solutions depend on the underlying hardware. If it doesn't work for you you need to come up with another solution or wait for an upgrade since it's perfectly possible one solution works on one system and not on another.
